Musical Theatre Minor
Coordinators
Anton Belov, D.M.A. • Music (Coordinator)
Lindsey Mantoan, Ph.D. • Theatre (Coordinator)
Linfield's Musical Theatre minor is designed to provide students with the artistic and critical tools to study and perform musical theatre. This interdisciplinary minor is acquired in collaboration between the Music Department and Theatre Program. Students will study the three components that make up the complete musical theatre performer: musicianship, acting, and dance. Additionally, students will analyze the art form, paying particular attention to the ways in which musicals engage issues of gender, sexuality, race, nationality, and identity.
Minors must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.500 in order to enroll in practicum courses and participate in production activities. In addition, students must earn a grade of C- or higher in courses meeting minor requirements.
