VI.23 Course Catalog

The Course Catalog is maintained by the Registrar’s Office with input, oversight, and review by department chairs, deans and Academic Affairs. Academic and student policies are added and updated through accepted shared governance procedures. As per the University bylaws, Faculty Senate is responsible for establishing academic student policies that pertain to academic progress toward degree completion; reviewing and making recommendations regarding general education requirements of the University and curricular changes by one school or college that impact a department or academic program in one of the other schools or college; and adoption of or changes to University-wide educational programs. The respective faculties of the schools and colleges have the responsibility to formulate and adopt courses of study, conditions of graduation, nature of degrees to be conferred, and rules and methods of conduct of educational work.

With the exception of Peer Instruction, Internship, Research/Thesis, and Independent Study courses, courses not offered for six academic years will be moved to the department’s infrequently taught course list, unless the course is scheduled to be offered the next academic year. Infrequently taught course lists will be located online as noted above each department’s course listings in the catalog. The relevant department(s) will receive a notification of pending catalog deletion from the registrar the academic year before the course is removed from the catalog. Courses moved to a department’s infrequently taught course list will be deleted by the registrar if not offered for 12 academic years.
