The Faculty Senate in collaboration with Academic Affairs and the Registrar’s Office set the principles that guide the establishment of the academic calendar(s). (Link to guiding principles)

Linfield offers academic programs in two calendar formats:

• Standard Academic Calendar: Two 15-week semesters, a 4-5-week accelerated January Term, and a 9-11-week accelerated summer term. January and summer terms may be required in some programs. Programs offered in this calendar format include:
  • All McMinnville Campus Programs
  • Traditional BSN (Portland Campus)
  • Most Online and Continuing Education (OCE) Programs
• Accelerated Academic Calendar: Four 10-12 week accelerated semesters. Programs offered in this calendar format include:
  • R.N. to B.S.N. Program
  • Accelerated B.S.N. Program (ABSN)
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Program (known as MEPN at Linfield)
  • Nonprofit Management Major (OCE)
